A tribute to my brother.

In every life,

there comes a time

to walk in shadows and in sunlight,

to hear silence and song

and to shed tears of sadness and of joy,

to forget what has been taken

and to remember

what has been given.

It's not a coincidence that our paths crossed his,

though it may be a short 21 years of his life,

We all know, he has lived well.

It's been 52 days since his departure but what really happened since that fateful night of garry's birthday remains ever-strong. It seemed like yesterday when we head down on garry's birthday to ask the gods about you. It seemed like yesterday when we were informed a body was found and we all gathered at PCG.

We mourn at the loss of a close friend.

We sigh that the heavens have taken you away.

We regret for the number of times we could have been more persistant in making you give up diving.

But,we'll forever remember you and we'll forever smile because you were a great friend to all of us.

Once again,

they can take the tomorrow and all that could have been,

they can take the places that we'll go.

all our future they can take it all away, i wont care but

they can never take yesterday away.

Gerald Chia, i miss you !

It's a rainy morning, the skies are grey and so am i.

I used to wonder why does my p3 teacher gave me such a weird question when she told me to write something about the person i admired most in 150words. Should it be ninja turtle? captain planet ? or something more realistically speaking ? my mum ? my dad ? or who ? In the end, i chose the one whom appeared the most number of times in the essays in the guidebook. But does a primary 3 student at that time knows what does admire means? my definition on 'admire' would probably be someone whom i wana be. I probably know nuts about the word 'admire'. However, if i were to be given the same question again, i definately knew who's the one i am always gonna look up to, now, tomorrow, or ten years down the road.

It's amazing how people can spend so much time in temples, in churches yet on the other hand does everything opposite from what they are taught or supposed to do right when they step out of their holy grounds. It's words that we use to describe whether one is right or wrong but at the same time, it's words again which one uses to justify himself from doing something wrong.
'We are human and humans do err' , 'the wages of sin is death and we are doomed if we do not do this or that' , Welcome to the world of pretence.
10 years ago, these statements made sense, 10 years later, they are utter bullshit.
These pretentious people only want to reap the benefits of being a religious person. When they say they do things a believer have to do, they read holy books and enter holy grounds far more often than they visit their parents, they just want to feel good because the world views people of religion as GOOD people. When you say a truck is coming your way, you JUMP out of its way. Because you believe the truck is going to hit you if you do not avoid its path and you are gonna do something so that it doesnt hit you. If you tell people you believe the truck is going to HIT you but does nothing to get out of its way, is this even belief ?
Hell no, it's probably belief in the usefulness of believing. When your belief does not control your most important decisions, do a self check and ask yourself all over again.
The world has its fair share of people amounting to some billions of people believing that there is a god but sadly, few genuinely believe. If people really have true faith in their religion, they would live every minute for their god. The rich would give to the poor. Everyone would be frantic to determine which religion was the right one. No one would feel comfortable in the thought that should they picked the wrong one, they are gonna be sent to enternal damnation. People would delicate their lives to converting others.

Because now i do see that people who goes to their holy grounds are not necessary good but people who doesnt are at the same time not necessary bad.
Tell me, for the bulk of you who goes to church speaks well of their religion, the rest of them who goes to the temple do have signs of 'supernaturnal powers' and stories to tell too. Pretty sumarized but trust me, i have lots more examples to show.
Idols will always be idols, i am not yet an atheist for i do feel that there is a god, a general one of course. So next time, if you see the next person coming out of some holy grounds, remember they could incidentally be the one who found the granny with tattered clothes selling tissue paper irritating as well.

Consciousness along with physical brains, can we really make decisions based on what we wan to ? Or do they even exist before we start to think about the things we wana do. i will write again.
